At the Physical Rehabilitiation Centre, in the School of Physiotherapy at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), they needed something special to help them with research into simulated slips, trips and falls by the elderly.

By connecting a harness to the Henderson Flexirol Straight Sliding system, they are fully supported as they walk over various treacherous surfaces. With the use of a 3D motion analysis camera system, the team at AUT's Rehabilitation Centre is able to study kinematics and muscle use as participants move.

The Flexirol Straight Sliding system is robust enough to bear the sudden loads as partcipants fall and its smooth running track allows them to move freely without their balance being impaired.
