Looking to install a sliding door but are limited due to restricted headroom? Our Compact 120 low headroom kit is the perfect solution!

What is a Low Headroom kit for Sliding Doors?

A low headroom kit is specialised hardware solution designed for installing sliding doors in spaces with limited clearance above the doorway-also known as restricted headroom.

In a typical sliding door system, the track and hangers require a certain amount of space above the door. However, in some buildings, especially older properties or conversions, this headroom isn't always available.

That's where a low headroom kit comes in. These kits are engineered to minimise the space required above the door using compact hardware and concealed components. Low headroom kits are also preferred by architects and designers due to the system's concealed design, giving the appearance of floor-to-ceiling doors as well as a minimalistic finish.

At P C Henderson, our Compact 120 low headroom kit has been expertly engineered to minimise the required clearance while ensuring a straightforward, hassle-free installation.

Seamless Compatibility

Compact 120 is compatible for use with our two popular systems for internal sliding doors.

  • Husky 120 Pro - When used with Husky 120 Pro, Compact 120 caters for wooden doors weighing up to 120kg each. This system is available with the optional soft close to prevent slamming and bouncing of the doors upon opening and closing.
  • Soltaire 120 - When used with Soltaire 120, Compact 120 caters for wooden doors weighing up to 120kg each. This system features stainless steel components for enhanced durability and rigidity and is therefore the preferred choice for heavy-duty doors in high traffic areas.

Why Compact 120 Pro?

  1. Ultra-Minimal Clearance Compact 120 requires only 2mm clearance between the top of the door and bottom of the track-a significant reduction on a typical sliding door system which requires between 10 and 30mm.
  2. Concealed, Clean Aesthetic All hardware is recessed flush into the top of the door, creating a minimalist finish-ideal for floor-to-ceiling doors and spaces with reduced headroom.
  3. Minimal Routing Required Compact 120 has been designed to reduce the amount of material required to be routed from the door-aiding easier installation. Using precision engineering the Compact 120 only requires 8mm depth to be routed into the top of the door.
  4. Slimline Components Designed with slimline components, Compact 120 can be paired with doors with a minimum thickness of 35mm.

Tested Tough-Stylish & Durable

Designed for both residential and commercial applications, Compact 120 has been tested up to 100,000 cycles to offer a long-lasting performance-the equivalent of opening and closing the door 5 times a day for up to 55 years.

Final Words

If you're looking to maximise headroom or achieve a concealed hardware finish, then Compact 120 is the perfect partner. It combines smooth operation, heavy-duty performance, and discreet aesthetics-all while reducing installation time and preserving door integrity.
