As our SHEQ Advisor here at P C Henderson, Tom plays a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. He oversees all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality-ensuring we meet high standards across the board whilst also continuously improving our working practices.

 

 

Tom joined P C Henderson in 2023 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. His core responsibilities include implementing safe working systems that protect all staff, with a particular focus on those operating machinery within our factory. In addition to safety, he also ensures the quality of our products-from new components to existing stock, as well as monitoring the environmental impact of our operations. All of this is managed through our Integrated Management System, under which we are proudly certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

When we asked Tom what he enjoys most about his job he commented, "I enjoy the diverse nature of the job role, there's always something new to get stuck into which keeps things interesting.”

 

Like many others in the health and safety field, Tom's journey began unexpectedly. In a previous warehouse role, Tom was given the opportunity to relocate from his hometown of Loughborough to County Durham whereby he applied for a vacancy as an Assistant H&S Coordinator and was successful. This role gave Tom valuable experience which lends itself nicely to his current role at P C Henderson.

Outside of work, Tom is a keen sports fan and has supported Leicester City his whole life-making their 2016 Premier League win one of his proudest moments, He also enjoys cycling and spending time outdoors walking his dog, Jeffrey.
