P C Henderson is delighted to have continued its annual tradition this year and donated six Christmas turkeys to The Peoples Kitchen – a Newcastle based charity which supports homeless and vulnerable people.

Each year P C Henderson gifts each of its employees with a Christmas turkey to enjoy with their friends and family over the festive period. As part of P C Henderson’s commitment to support local and national charities, the company also donates a number of turkeys to The People’s Kitchen so that those less fortunate can enjoy a Christmas turkey on the big day.

Established in 1985, the charity relies solely on volunteers to provide a range of services to homeless and disadvantaged people. Services include clothes, warm surroundings, toiletries, friendship, ongoing support and hot food. The charity serves up over 100 hot meals most nights - with the addition of the extra meals they serve on the streets - this equates to over 40,000 hot meals being served per year!

“As a company we’re committed to supporting a wide range of charities throughout the year – these are mostly national charities so it’s also great to be able to give back to a charity that’s making such a difference on a local level. The Peoples Kitchen is based very close to our UK offices – it’s great to know that we’re helping local people in need - particularly at this time of year”, commented Trevor Cossins, Managing Director at P C Henderson.

Charities that P C Henderson has supported this year include Macmillan, Children in Need, Save the Children and most recently The Peoples Kitchen – raising a fantastic combined total of £730 plus the 6 turkeys donated.

We’d like to wish all of our employees and customers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
