Meet Dave, The Sales & Commercial Director at P C Henderson
Today the spotlight is on Dave Newton, Sales & Commercial Director here at P C Henderson.
Dave rejoined P C Henderson almost three years ago, having also worked within P C Henderson’s garage door division between 2001 and 2009. With over 14 years’ experience in the sliding and folding door hardware industry as well as over 20 years’ experience working within manufacturing, Dave has exceptional technical knowledge of all P C Henderson products and a great understanding of the business.
Naturally, the role of Sales & Commercial Director sees Dave get involved within multiple areas of the business – with his main focus being sales and marketing. He works closely with our Business Development Managers based in the UK and Middle East to understand market requirements, build customer relationships and attend customer visits. Dave’s role also involves liaising with UK and Export Customer Service Managers to ensure our high service levels are maintained, as well as working with our Research & Development team to identify new product development opportunities.
As a global manufacturer exporting to over 70 countries worldwide, Daves main responsibility is understanding the product and market requirements of different geographical regions. Whilst many may find this challenging, it is this diversity that Dave enjoys about the role. Dave comments:
“The diversity of the role means there’s never a dull moment and no two days are ever the same. I really enjoy being out on the road visiting our customers. With such a large network of customers across the globe, it’s important to build a close working relationship to understand their needs and requirements for both product and service.”
Since Dave rejoined P C Henderson in 2021, the company has largely invested in product development and have placed a substantial focus on introducing new products to the range as well as improvements to existing systems, Dave continues,
“We have received great feedback from our customers following the launch of our newest products – Husky 120 Pro, Huskyfold 30 and SlideLite. These products have been designed with a with our customers in mind with a focus on high performance and easy installation – it is great to hear that this has been recognized and well received with our customers.”
As for future trends, Dave predicts that P C Henderson will see increased demand for our range of automated sliding systems – Evolve and Shutter Slide - in the coming years due the increasing popularity of SMART products used around the home.
When not in the office, Dave enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing with a good book. On weekends, he enjoys going to football matches when he can, to support his local team – Sunderland AFC.
