Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can the track be cut down?

No - due to the tracks ball cage design, the Marathon track cannot be cut to size. We have a range of kit packs available which have been designed to cater for varying door widths.
  • Can Marathon be used in pocket door applications?

We do not recommend Marathon for pocket door installations as the door cannot be removed post installation for required maintenance. For pocket door applications, we recommend our Pocket Door or Pocket Door Pro systems.
  • Can you use Marathon for double sliding doors?

Yes - please purchase 2 kits for bipartind doors.

Q&A

Q&A

Question:

Our sliding door was installed a 4 years ago by builder when he converted our bathroom and toilet to a walk in shower room for my wife and is fine, works well. However every now and again the door seems to move on its fitting in that it doesn\'t close all the way, leaving a small gap between the door and the frame on the left that makes the surround. The door stops are in place at both ends and however the door stop on the left where the external part of the frame is does not engage before the door gets to it\'s closed position. I would have though that the door reaching the close position though before the runners run out would not be a factor though. Yet To fix I can move the door to the closed position or at least as far as it is at that point closing and the pull it to where it should be closing to. When I do this I can see what looks like the top hangers moving. I have tightened the 2 pair of bolts but do not want to go too far. Please advise on any adjustments, tightening procedures that my stop the door from moving.

Answer:

We have exactly the same problem with our sliding door - it no longer slides all the way to one end - stopping before it hits the door stop and leaving a 12-15 cm gap. How can we adjust it?

Question:

Hello - we have the same issue as the post from Oct 2020. Our dressing room sliding door was installed about 5 years ago by builder and worked well for a while. However the door has seemed to move on its fitting and now it will not close all the way, leaving a small gap between the door and the frame on one side. There are door stops are in place at both ends, however the door stops moving (the ball bearing assembly hits the end of its guide) before the stop is reached. It looks a bit like the track that the door hangs from has shifted within the ball bearing assembly that moves along the guide track.

Answer:

Good afternoon,

For a 900mm wide door, we would recommend our J3 if the door is less than 55kg or our S3 if the door weight is between 55kg and 90kg.

Thanks,
